About

What DexaFit Research is.

The depth of a scholarly site. The usability of a modern reference product. Built on the largest clinical-grade body composition and metabolic dataset in the world.

Years of real-world biometric data

Most body composition reference data is decades old, based on small samples, or measured with imprecise methods. DexaFit's clinical network generates high-fidelity measurements with demographic context that no published cohort can match.

What DexaFit Research Is

The publishing and data arm of DexaFit.

DexaFit Research is the research and publishing arm of DexaFit. We publish original research and curate findings from leading journals in the fields of body composition, metabolic health, and longevity science.

We make data available to researchers, clinicians, and product teams. We provide real-world evidence at a scale published cohorts can't match — and we make it readable.

Why This Exists

The gap between measurement and knowledge is large.

Most body composition reference data is decades old, based on small samples, or measured with imprecise methods. Clinicians interpret DEXA results against population norms derived from radically different cohorts.

DexaFit's clinical network generates hundreds of thousands of DEXA, VO₂ Max, and RMR scans with high-fidelity labels and demographic context. That data has never been systematically analyzed and published — until now.

Editorial Standards

Expert-reviewed. Methodology disclosed.

Every original research article is reviewed by at least one domain expert. We use the term expert-reviewed rather than peer-reviewed to acknowledge that our review process is rigorous but distinct from traditional journal peer review.

Methodology, limitations, and conflicts of interest are disclosed on every page. Curated content from outside sources is annotated with DexaFit context, caveats, or opposing viewpoints when appropriate.

Expert Review

Every original study reviewed by at least one domain expert before publication.

Limitation Disclosure

All methodology, limitations, and sources of error are disclosed alongside findings.

Annotated Curation

External studies are annotated with DexaFit context and caveats where relevant.

Conflict Disclosure

All funding relationships and commercial interests are transparently disclosed.

Data Governance

HIPAA Safe Harbor. No exceptions.

All data is de-identified per HIPAA Safe Harbor standards. No individually identifiable health information is published. We perform automated quality checks on all measurements, validate scanner calibration regularly, and stratify results by demographic variables to identify potential biases.

Known biases, limitations, and sources of error are disclosed alongside our findings. Data access is governed by formal data use agreements with confidentiality and use-restriction provisions.

Conflicts of Interest

We are not neutral. We are transparent.

DexaFit Research is funded by DexaFit, a commercial testing company. Research is produced by the same organization that operates the clinical testing network. This creates inherent conflicts of interest.

We do not suppress unfavorable findings. All methodology and limitations are disclosed. Our commitment is to advancing the science of body composition measurement — not to promoting DexaFit's testing services.
